Day 14- Black Wall Street

It’s late, I’m tired but it’s still day 14 of Black History Month. I want to share to share a little bit about a place called Greenwood, Oklahoma in the early 1900’s.

Black Wall Street.

One of the most successful and affluent all-black communities in history. But it was the hatred of knowing that blacks have the ability to to not only be self-sufficient but to be extremely prosperous was overwhelming for the racist who believed it was undeserving.

So what was the solution?

Destroy the community with scuffles, fires, bombing of buildings and shots fired. So on 1921, destroy is exactly what they did during one of the worst and most violent race riots this country had seen…
